Latex dummies and teat discolourationUpdated 7 months ago

This is a very common and normal occurrence with dummies or bottle teats and is especially noticeable when changing to a new one as with regular use these items do expand in size. When a new dummy is different in size to the older dummy this is due to the teat expanding with heavy use. As the teat is made from natural latex the shape does change and expand with use and warmth over time. When the teat is much larger this indicates the teat has been in use for a while which has resulted in the swelling of the latex, which makes the sizes differ and the new one seem smaller.

As it is a natural material we do also expect to see some slight size variations even within the same size. You can read more about this here - https://bibsworld.com/pages/faq

As always, we do recommend checking the dummy or teats over before each use for any wear and tear and change them at least every 4-6 weeks, or sooner if any damage has occurred.
